SAP Analytics Day 2020 ONLINE

On May 20, 2020, the annual conference “SAP Analytics Day 2020” was held online, gathering more than 200 participants. During the event, the world’s leading data experts presented data analytics solutions offered by SAP.

Ainārs Bemberis, Head of SAP Latvia: “The great interest of the participants confirms how relevant nowadays are solutions for data management and analysis. As the event took place online, this year SAP Analytics Day 2020 brought together the world’s leading data experts to present the latest SAP solutions, inspiring anyone who is still thinking about digital transformation in their company or organization, and encouraging them to further improve their systems.

SAP business development expert Olivier Demeusy spoke about how to combine SAP Hana and IQ technologies to create a state-of-the-art data analytics platform: “SAP Hana also offers a wide range of cloud services. Depending on the need, you can choose – SAP Analytics Cloud or SAP Data Warehouse Cloud”.

Iver van de Zand, SAP Vice President of Solutions Management for Advanced Business Intelligence (BI), began his presentation with what creates the true value of data: “It’s the data itself, the quality and the right application. However, by using all three SAP solutions together: SAP Hana Cloud + SAP Data Warehouse Cloud + SAP Analytics Cloud, it is possible to get maximum value from the data.” The expert also stressed that SAP is currently the only company offering end-to-end data analytics solutions. Introducing SAP Analytics Cloud, it was emphasized that it combines three elements – BI, machine learning and collaborative planning, enabling fast, secure, detailed end-to-end data analysis.

SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.3 was introduced by Gregory Botticchio, Director of SAP Product Management. SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.3 is a solution that delivers innovation in three areas: business readiness, user experience, and hybrid use in both the enterprise data center and the cloud. SAP BusinessObjects BI 4.3 provides improved integration between SAP Business Objects BI and SAP Analytics Cloud compared to the previous version. The solution provides a high-quality user experience, providing a more modern solution, a wide range of features and other features that will make data processing cheaper, more diverse and more interesting. Gregory Botticchio emphasized that SAP BusinessObjects BI is a clear future strategy for product development and will be SAP Business Intelligence’s offer for on-premise installations.

SAP solutions are used by thousands of companies around the world, and some customer experience stories were also introduced at SAP Analytics Day 2020. Maris Svilāns, Infotrust’s business intelligence consultant, spoke more about Luminor’s experience: “In a bank with a customer base of one million, it is important to accurately allocate costs to every banking service and product. The SAP HANA-based Activity Based Costing solution enables Luminor Bank’s business to get answers about product and customer profitability.”

Another customer experience story was presented by Marika Kemppainen, Senior Development Manager of the Finnish company Vaisala. She explained in more detail how, with the support of the Latvian SAP partner Scandic Fusion, Vaisala has successfully started using SAP Analytics Cloud in the field of planning. Marika emphasized that before the implementation of SAP, the planning process was based on a 10-year MS Excel solution, which was complex and time-consuming. The biggest benefits of using this solution are data security, extensive data visualization, planning efficiency, speed, and this is not the end of the list.

Along with these experts, specialists from Latvia also shared their views – Ainārs Bemberis, Head of SAP Latvia, Raivis Blaumanis from ScandicFucion, as well as Oskars Priede, public speaking coach.
